Disease / Epidemiology

      Disease surveillance is an important component of Public Health.  Surveillance is the ongoing, systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of health data essential to the planning implementation and evaluation of public health practice.  Local Health Departments have the responsibility and authority to investigate all epidemics, outbreaks, and issues of public health concerns.  They are among the first responders for investigating and controlling biological weapons of mass destruction.  Local, regional and state resources are listed below.
